Vintage Spaceman - Painting

Finally got around to taking a picture of it.
So here is my current progress report on the painting

Fiddling around with colors cuz they just don't feel right. Need to make that pink duller and the orange more yellow (need it a yellow brown which is hard to accomplish to get the right one) I need them to look worn too.
Should get colors right next class, maybe.... well i hope i do
Touching up spacesuit section, getting rid of white under layer that i put on
Around 22.5 hours of work so far on it, man i'm really finacky. Spent like half a week just to get the bg right (classes are 90 mins, once a day, and still going to work on it once i finish up on the astronaut)
All in acrylics
Size of canvas 18x24 (was going to be 24x28 but teacher didn't have any more of those canvases and i wanted a new one)

I'm planning not to copy bg that i did in the original piece, cuz i want a sorta different feel to it and I don't want to copy it. Feels like copying someone else's work, weird eh?
This is my first painting of the series that i am doing in Art 30, "Era's of Music". I am planning to do 2 more paintings before the end of the semester, well defiantly 1 more and spend extra time out of class on the 3rd one if i want to finish it before the class ends.

Man i think digital is the place for me, at least photoshop is forgiving while paint, not so much lol
